Description | Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa says he has one piece of wisdom for President Bush when he pays a call today on saturated Iowa.
"My advice to him is don't say, 'You're doing a good job, Brownie,' the Iowa Republican said Wednesday, recalling the president's too-soon praise for FEMA Administrator Michael Brown during the Hurricane Katrina disaster of 2005.
Brown and the administration came under criticism for a slow and inadequate response to the hurricane and Brown was relieved of his duties in the region.
Grassley, appearing on the C-SPAN cable network call-in show "Washington Journal," said that his point is that federal officials shouldn't congratulate themselves before results are known. |
