Description | New Orleans is gaining population slowly but steadily, according to figures released by a data analyst Tuesday.
Greg Rigamer estimates that the city is at about 262,000 people – a gain of 7,000 between March and May.
The number brings the city to about 60 percent of its population before Katrina, and Rigamer thinks that the summer could bring another surge as people return home after the completion of another school year.
