Description | TAMPA, Fla. - Four environmental groups intend to make a federal case over cow manure that's finding its way into southwest Florida waterways and some drinking supplies.
The groups have mailed a required 60-day notice to four large dairy farms, alerting them of their intent to sue.
Manure from thousands of cattle is sprayed on fields and crops where it runs off into ditches, creeks and waterways, said Scott Randolph, an attorney with the Legal Environmental Assistance Foundation, one of the organizations involved in the legal action.
