DescriptionIn a 25 September press release Gabrielle Giffords announced a series of six two-way debates in which she will face off against Randy Graf. In actuality, the six events are public forums, and at least four of them will feature Libertarian candidate David Nolan in addition to Giffords and Graf.

"The Giffords campaign is trying to claim credit where it isn't due," opined Nolan.

The Nolan campaign further suspects that Giffords's omission was deliberate. "Gabby Giffords would like voters who support ending the war in Iraq and protecting civil liberties to think they have no choice but to vote for a big-government, tax-and-spend Democrat," continued Nolan. "Giffords was ranked 29th out of 30 state senators on the Goldwater Institute's legislative scorecard. She was no friend of the taxpayer in Arizona and is unlikely to change her ways if sent to Washington. Her idea for reform is to merely trim a little waste here and there. I, on the other hand, will become a co-sponsor of the Liberty Amendment."

"Being the lesser of two evils is easy; winning the war of ideas is tougher. With a Libertarian in the race, the voters will have a true range of choices on November 7th, and, like it or not, Giffords will also face me in candidate forums. With solid and distinct positions of my own on such matters as the war, the Federal budget, and immigration, I'm looking forward to making her and Graf sweat to keep up in serious discussion of the issues."
