| Description | Without saying a word, state Sen. Gary Siplin quickly left the Orange County Courthouse on Monday after he was found guilty of stealing thousands of dollars in taxpayer money by paying state workers while they helped cement his 2004 re-election.
Siplin won't be forced to resign his state post until his appeals are exhausted. But the Senate president on Monday said whether Siplin remains in office "is a matter for his conscience." |
