Description | A day after he announced his candidacy for Chicago mayor, Bill "Dock" Walls had already thrown down the gloves.
"Mayor Daley, if the feds don't get you, we'll get you at the ballot box," Walls said Monday of the mayor, whose administration has been mired in hiring scandals and a federal probe. A Daley spokesman could not be reached for comment. Daley has not said whether he's running for re-election. He was first elected in 1989.
Walls, a 48-year-old born and raised South Sider who now makes his home downtown, is billing himself as a reformer -- and wading into the 2007 election pool early to let the public warm up to him and his ideas. |
