DescriptionState Sen. Barbara Blackmon, who has made millions in law practice with her husband, stressed her "humble beginnings" Tuesday during her formal campaign announcement for lieutenant governor.

"Like many of you know, you haven't worked hard until you have fed cows, fed chickens and worked on a farm," she said at the Capitol, with dozens of cheering supporters standing behind her as she faced television cameras.
