| Description | In a critical House seat pick-up for the Democrats, New Mexico Attorney General Tom Udall has beaten incumbent Republican Rep. Bill Redmond in New Mexico's 3rd congressional district.
Udall's victory was not a surprise, as Redmond was something of a political rarity: a conservative Republican in a district that has long been a Democratic stronghold.
