DescriptionFour years ago, the most expensive political race in central San Joaquin Valley history was waged in the 20th Congressional District, with a total of $5.3 million spent by Republicans and Democrats.

In that race, incumbent Democrat Cal Dooley turned back Republican Rich Rodriguez, now a KSEE-TV anchorman, in a bruising, bitter contest.
