Description | "CONCORD While debates between Democratic state Sen. Susan Fargo and Republican challenger John Thibault have been known for their fireworks, Rep. Cory Atkins and challenger Doug Stevenson matched their Senate counterparts' venom in a debate at Concord-Carlisle Regional High School yesterday.
Stevenson, a seven-year selectman in Concord running as a Republican, argued that Atkins and her fellow Democrats have ignored the voters' will on issues such as the income-tax rollback and redistricting.
He asked Atkins why she had voted in favor of what he called "gerrymandering" in Acton and Chelmsford, instead of teaming with former Rep. Carol Cleven to keep the towns together."
