Description | When the engine on state Rep. Randy Johnson's 1997 Infiniti began having trouble last year, he took the car to the Orlando Infiniti dealership on Lake Destiny Drive for repairs. The bill was $1,990.89, but Johnson didn't pay it himself. He had his state Senate campaign pick up the tab.
It wasn't the first time Johnson, R-Celebration, has used his campaign account on his cars. In recent years, he has spent more than $4,400 to fix the air conditioning, transmission and other problems, according to state finance records. He has used campaign cash to pay more than $2,700 in car-insurance bills. He once spent more than $200 to have a car detailed.
In fact, Johnson frequently spends his campaign cash at unusual locations, everywhere from the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World on International Drive to the upscale clothing store Brooks Brothers. |
