Description | The former district of Charlottetown-Kings Square grew substantially bigger with the 2006 redistribution after being united with Charlottetown-Rochford Square, creating one large district that encompasses old Charlottetown.
The eastern end of the old city contains the port and former rail yards, and has more of a working-class history than other parts of the city. The district also includes the city's upper-class district, most of the commercial area of the downtown and the seat of government.
While encompassing some of the city's most desirable neighbourhoods, it also includes less-affluent areas south of the downtown, though these areas are becoming gentrified. |
