Mostly suburban, containing the majority of Mount Pearl, the district is prosperous. It includes the Donovans industrial park and has seen an expansion in big-box retail outlets in recent years. Formerly known as Mount Pearl, the area was renamed and the borders shifted in the 2007 redistribution. It retained 89 per cent of its original territory.
