InfoI have found time to do many other things with my life in addition to being a very active member of the Liberal Party in Nova Scotia. Here is a brief summary of my background:

I was raised in Halifax the eldest of five children. I attended Oxford School, St Pat's High School and St. Mary's University, where I acquired my Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees.

In 1971 my wife, Barbara Jennex, and I moved to Chester where we raised our four children: Stacy, Justin, Nicholas and Mathew. I'm proud to say all of them are active in the South Shore community.

I had the privilege of teaching junior and senior high school in Chester municipality for my entire career before retiring in 2003. During that time I served on several Nova Scotia Teachers Union committees.

I have been very active in Chester-St. Margaret's, coaching all levels of minor hockey, and organizing and coaching school and summer league soccer. In the 1980s I started the Chester Minor Soccer Association and served as its president for nine years. I was also a trustee of the Eleanor Pew Morris Memorial Rink and I am currently the president of the Chester Golf Club after serving on its board for nine years.

Soon after my retirement Barb and I built a modest house on beautiful Puddle Bay (see map) in Queensland, strengthening our connection to the area in which both our families had summered for more than 30 years. We maintain a strong connection to all of Chester-St Margaret's socially, recreationally and through work.
