| Info | Councilmember Tyler Morton is a trailblazing community leader, dedicated healthcare professional, and advocate for marginalized communities in Lexington, Kentucky. A lifelong resident of the Green Acres neighborhood, Tyler has drawn inspiration from his family, particularly his grandmother, Mary Ann Henderson-Adams, the first African American graduate of the University of Kentucky in 1950. Seventy-one years later, Tyler followed her legacy by earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s in Public Administration from Eastern Kentucky University, completing the program in just one year.
Morton made history as the youngest person elected to the Lexington City Council, bringing a fresh perspective and unwavering commitment to addressing systemic challenges. His work is guided by a deep passion for equity, public service, and community development. As co-founder of Resilience Charity, he has supported thousands of children and youth in underserved neighborhoods by providing leadership, advocacy, and resources. Professionally, he has served as an Anesthesia Technician at UK Chandler Hospital, directly assisting in critical surgical procedures, demonstrating his dedication to improving lives in and out of the operating room.
In public office, Morton is focused on fostering collaboration, amplifying the voices of the 1st District, and addressing community challenges with innovative and inclusive solutions. Drawing from his legislative experience and grassroots connections, he is committed to building bridges, strengthening neighborhoods, and ensuring a brighter future for all of Lexington.
