Born and raised in Winnipeg South Centre, Ben Carr has a proven track record of community leadership resulting in him being recognized as a Future 40 leader.

Ben has previously held positions as Principal of the nationally award-winning Maples Met High School, as well as a Divisional Principal in the Seven Oaks School Division. Ben volunteered with the Kelvin Clippers football team for many years, including serving as the first head coach of the junior varsity team. Passionate about advancing reconciliation, Ben currently serves as the Vice-President of Indigenous Strategy Alliance.

Ben knows how to get things done in Ottawa. Having held various positions in the federal government, including Director of Parliamentary Affairs to the Minister of Canadian Heritage where he helped usher in legislation related to Indigenous Languages and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Ben and his partner Amy live in River Heights with their dogs, Theodore and Lily.

As the Member of Parliament for Winnipeg South Centre, Ben will work with Justin Trudeau and the Liberal team to keep Canada moving forward and continue to make life more affordable, fight climate change, deliver better public health care, and grow a strong economy that works for all Winnipeggers.
