Info | Senator Wood previously served as mayor of Eldridge. He is the student activities director at North Scott High School and has been involved in education throughout his career, including 14 years teaching experience and almost 20 years in administration. Senator Wood has also worked with students outside the classroom as a coach for basketball, track, softball and football, and as a sports official.
Senator Wood is involved in a variety of civic organizations, including the North Scott Kiwanis, where he is a past president. He serves on the education advisory committee for St. Ambrose College. He is a member of the Iowa State High School and Girl’s High School Athletic associations. He has also served as a clinical professor at Augustana College and taught adult education recreation courses at Eastern Iowa Community College.
Senator Wood holds a master’s degree in Educational Administration. He and his wife, Peggy, have a son, Brian, who is a Davenport firefighter, and a daughter, Lindsay, who is a teacher in the Johnston Community School District. He and his family are members of the Wildwood Baptist Church.
