InfoHeather Sawers graduated with Honours from Charles P. Allen High School in 1999. She is entering her third year in the Bachelor of Journalism at the University of King's College. She was born and raised in Fall River and I still lives there with her mother, Laura, sister Lesley, and her little dog, Peanut.

Heather is a real go-getter. She's written for the school newspaper and started a club on filmmaking. She has held quite a few positions over the past few years, namely being a waitress, cosmetician, tour-guide, cashier, webmaster, and research assistant. She has just finished an internship at Progress magazine where she wrote and edited articles. She has been writing stories since age eight, and plans to someday own her own magazine and write novels.

Heather recognizes that there are many issues in her constituency and is anticipating a strong movement towards free education. "To be a vessel for other people's ideas, you need to be friendly, accessible, and passionate about making changes--not "politically experienced. I think my youth gives me an advantage. I'm hard working, enthusiastic, and consider this an exciting challenge. I believe in the new concept of government being floated by the Nova Scotia Party, and if elected you can be confident that I will fight hard on behalf of everyone in this riding."

Heather is widely recognized throughout Metro for her unique car -- a black and hot-pink Dodge Shadow named Trixie, with the entire interior painted and decorated (including a mannequin who rides around with her). Trixie has attracted a lot of media attention, including a feature on Eastlink News and a column by Peter Duffy in the Chronicle~Herald.

Her hobbies are writing, reading, painting, crafts, web-design, and her Barbies.
