| Info | John is the IT Director at The Heights School in Potomac, MD. He teaches Computer Science classes, mentors students on independent CS projects, and manages the school’s technology needs. Prior to joining the school, he worked at a number of technology companies in the DC area, including comScore and TaxiMagic.
John is the Catoctin District member on the Loudoun County School Board. He was elected in November, 2019. He has fought steadfastly for parental rights, and sees the improvements possible in education for all of our children.
Beatty graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Computer Science, with minors in Business and Mathematics. He is a member of the Waterford Citizens Association, the Loudoun Beekeepers association, and the Waterford Foundation. John was born in Portsmouth, VA, and grew up in the DC Area.
He currently lives between Waterford and Lovettsville with his wife Katie and their five children where they keep sheep, chickens, bees, and are growing fruit trees, hops bines, and an organic vegetable garden.
