Info | Caseen Gaines is a lifelong Hackensack resident and dedicated voice in our community. After graduating from Rutgers University—New Brunswick, where he triple-majored in English, Journalism and Media Studies, and American Studies, he returned to serve his city as an educator and theater director at Hackensack High School, where he graduated from in 2003 and has worked for the past fourteen years.
Since 2005, Caseen has staged sold-out performances and hosted community events at the Hackensack Performing Arts Center (HACPAC) with Hackensack Theatre Company, a not-for-profit arts organization he cofounded, in conjunction with the Hackensack Department of Cultural Arts and Recreation Department. In 2016 he was appointed to a five-year term on the city’s Cultural Arts Board, assisting with the opening of the theater and art gallery at HACPAC. In 2017, he also served on an Ad hoc committee to explore the feasibility of adding a dog park in Staib Park.
