Info | I am a Colorado Springs native and have lived in City Council District one for the majority of my life. I have always loved the City of Colorado Springs, especially this district.
Throughout grade school, I attended mostly district 20 schools and ultimately graduated from Rampart High School. After graduation I attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, with a Minor in Leadership.
After graduation, I started to pursue my career in the Fire Service and obtained an Associate's Degree in Paramedicine, at which time I became a Nationally Registered Paramedic.
I later decided to pursue my Masters Degree at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and obtained the Degree of Master’s in Public Administration.
I am extremely excited to put my education to work to serve this community and feel that my Master's Degree will put me directly in line to be a great member of the City Council.
Fire Service Career
As a child, I began to show an interest in the Fire Service at a very young age. At the age of 15, my father Enrolled me in the Colorado Springs Fire Department's Fire Explorer Program. I spent a total of 4 years in this program and absolutely fell in love with the Fire Service and the ability to provide a great service to the community.
Towards the end of my Undergraduate Career, I decided to take the first step towards my Fire Service Career. I started volunteering with Security Sire Department in 2012 and spent a total of 3 years as a volunteer. During this time, I worked on and ultimately obtained multiple Firefighting certifications, as well as my Emergency Medical Technician Certification. Towards the end of my volunteer career, I began going to school to become a certified Paramedic. During this process, I was hired as a full-time Engineer/Paramedic and spent approximately 2 years in the role before becoming a Full Time Firefighter Paramedic at the City of Fountain Fire Department.
During my time at these departments, I had the distinct honor of working part time at multiple other fire agencies in the El Paso County region, as well as being an adjunct instructor at Pikes Peak Community College for Paramedic practical skills.
After working full time at Fountain Fire Department for approximately 3 years, I began my employment at West Metro Fire Rescue in Lakewood, Colorado. I am still currently employed as a full time Firefighter/Paramedic at West Metro Fire Rescue and work a schedule with great flexibility, that allows me the ability to best serve in the capacity of a City Council Member.
