InfoThe son of a journalist and a former public school teacher, Kevin O’Connor spent countless evenings during his childhood at the family dinner table discussing and debating the issues of the day. Like so many Americans, that’s where he and his five siblings were taught to listen and learn from other perspectives, and to disagree without being disagreeable - qualities that are sorely lacking in our nation’s capital.

His dad’s job as a reporter meant Kevin’s family moved often, making him the new kid at school for much of his childhood. The experience of repeatedly starting over with no friends or connections instilled in Kevin an appreciation for inclusion, and made him determined to ensure those around him feel welcomed and valued. Because of his innate optimism, sense of humor and leadership qualities, the family looked to Kevin to keep their spirits high amidst their frequently changing world.

Kevin attended Trinity College, where he was elected student body president and played football. His passion for the competition of ideas then led him to Boston College Law School and a career as an attorney.

A leader in the Massachusetts legal community for 30 years, Kevin served on the Executive Committee of the Boston Bar Association Council, Co-Chaired the BBA’s Business Litigation Committee, and was appointed a founding member of the BBA’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. He is a longstanding Fellow of the Boston Bar Foundation, and the 2020 Co-Chair of the BBF’s John and Abigail Adams Ball, the largest event for legal aid funding in Massachusetts.

Now, Kevin is running for U.S. Senate to bring much needed change to Washington. Unlike in Massachusetts, where a Republican governor collaborates with a largely Democratic legislature, Washington politicians focus incessantly on creating and exploiting partisan conflict. Kevin believes the dysfunction in Congress is fueled by professional politicians who feel entitled to power and will do just about anything to keep it. That’s why he supports term limits and pledges to serve no more than two terms in the Senate.

Kevin will focus on achievable solutions for the issues that matter most to Massachusetts. He will be a champion for education and our free enterprise system. He will stand up to the deficit spenders in both parties, promote affordable health care and a sustainable environment, and support a “peace through strength” foreign policy. And Kevin will always insist on the fair and impartial application of our Constitution and laws for all, regardless of station in life.

A father of four sons, Kevin lives in Dover with his wife Janet and their two school-aged boys.
