InfoJay Sobel is a Professional Member of the Association of Chartered Industrial Designers of Ontario, a consulting designer, and a Professor of Human Factors. Jay graduated “With Distinction” from the Faculty of Engineering at Carleton University. He also graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology. Jay and his wife Ching Na Liu reside in Don Valley North, where Jay has lived for 38 years. Jay brings to provincial politics 30 years of leadership experience acquired during domestic and international product development ventures in the defence, telecommunications, health care, pet care, and sporting goods industries. Jay’s collaborative efforts have produced several patented and award-winning products that have helped people across the world to live securely; communicate efficiently; experience an improved quality of life, and enjoy the safe play. Jay recognizes parallels between serving the needs and concerns of the end-users of his products and representing the needs and concerns of the constituents of Don Valley North. He has an established record of community service. Jay served as a volunteer coach in the Ontario Lacrosse Association for 32 years; raised nearly $49,000 in donations for The Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness; and was awarded a Certificate of Recognition from Toronto Fire Services for saving the life of a drowning man. Jay believes government must remain accountable to the people; that fundamentally it is the duty of elected officials to represent the rights, the needs and the concerns of their constituents in a respectful, transparent, dignified and lawful manner. He is proud to run for MPP in Don Valley North and represent the true conservative values of the New Blue Party of Ontario.
