Commissioner Lindley earned her degree in journalism at the University of Missouri and has lived in Florida her entire adult life, primarily in Tallahassee where she was a columnist, reporter and eventually editorial page editor of the Tallahassee Democrat. She also worked as a political writer and capital bureau chief for the New York Times Florida Newspaper Group and as legislative editor at the Miami Herald in the 1970s.
Among her community activities, she currently serves on the board of directors of the Capital Tiger Bay Club and The Village Square.
