| Info | Born in Cayey, Puerto Rico. Jesus has witnessed the struggles of many people have faced on a daily basis in the community. Jesus has identified the struggles of job loss, regulations on small business (including fines and penalties), overcrowded hospitals, overcrowded schools and crime rate has been increasing through New York City and our Nation. Jesus has made a pledge to support all local merchants (throughout the district) to help improve business, and make our communities safer.
At the age of 11, (while attending school) Jesus started serving his community in Cayey, Puerto. As a member of the Puerto Rico Civil Defense, worked in different kinds of emergencies locally and nationally, served as a rescuer, and saved members of the community from natural disasters, car accidents, and other events in emergencies. At age of 18, served as a firefighter where extinguish fires and provide education to the community, worked as Emergency Medical Paramedic to assist members of the community in health situations, assisted at local hospitals as well on scene medical emergencies. Jesus also served as Coordinator of the HomeLand Security program in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and served as Instructor for the Puerto Rico Fire Academy.
In April 2014, Queens Centennial Lions Club was founded in service to the New York City area and helped the community in times of need and social services. Jesus served in various positions throughout the years: Founder President as President of the newly created Lions Club, in charge of 45 Lions in services to the community, organized events such as: fundraiser for the affected people of the Ecuador Earthquake (raised $ 1,100 and was donated to the community of Rocafuerte, Ecuador), Blood Drive organized a blood drive with New York Blood Center with the participation of 100 community members, Condom Distributions organized a condom distribution in favor of safe sex and prevention of sexual transmitted diseases, distributed 15,000 condoms, Serving food to the immigrant workers organized and prepared 500 packages containing sandwiches, bottled of water, toothpaste, toothbrush to the immigrant workers in Woodside, Eyeglasses organized and donated 1,500 eye glasses for the Eye-Bank for the Sight Restoration organization, Toys for Tots organized event to collect toys for the kids and were donated to The Landing Family Shelter as a Treasurer keeping all financial reports in order, disclose to the members the account balances, collect all members dues, payout donations, payout invoices. Lions Club International Foundation Coordinator (LCIF) served as an ambassador for the Lions Club International Foundation in the club, coached new members, trained existing members to jump up the ladder to be leaders and organize events in the community, and served as the senior leader of the club.
Upon graduation from High school, Jesus became the first member of his family to attend college. In 2005, he graduated from the Universidad del Turabo with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a minor in Business Management and Accounting. In 2007, he received a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Human Resources Administration from the Universidad del Turabo.
Jesus currently works as the Human Resource Manager where he provides leadership skills that helps companies and individuals growth, and resolves all labor relations within the company. Jesus also participates in the development of safe and fair labor practices, and creates effective employee/employer relationships.
Jesus is running for Congress in order to improve the quality of life in New York State for all residents, and to help address the issues that have prevented communities to prosper and small business develop. Jesus promises to help identify the problems in the community by working organizers, business and legal professionals of the district in order to help create progress.
