| Info | Ritchie Whorton is a lifelong conservative Republican that has been in the Owens Cross Roads community for the majority of his life. Ritchie is the co-owner and manager of All Star Pools, Inc., the company he and his business partner founded in 1994. He is a graduate of New Hope High School and Jacksonville State University.
Following graduation from college, Ritchie managed Sharon Johnston Park in New Market and worked for the YMCA where he developed a passion for working with and improving opportunities for the children in the communities that he served. In 1994, after working in various small businesses, Ritchie and a partner incorporated All Star Pools, Inc. As a small business, they have shown consistent growth and development for almost 20 years. Ritchie embraces the challenges of a small-business owner and he has a reputation for standing up for the principles that he believes in.
For the past 30 years, Ritchie has been married to Shirley Spivey Whorton of New Hope. Shirley graduated from the University of Alabama and she is a teacher at Madison County High School in Gurley. Ritchie and Shirley are the proud parents of two daughters, McKenna and Kylee. They love being a part of the communities in which they live and work. The Whorton’s have worshiped at Owens Cross Roads United Methodist Church for 27 years, where Ritchie serves as the Chairperson of the Trustee Committee. He is a member of the North Alabama and New Covenant Emmaus communities and has served both communities in various positions.
A longtime conservative, Ritchie believes in the value of hard work and perseverance. He is a member of the Madison County Home Builders Association, the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of North Alabama, and the Southeast Madison County Business Association. Outside his professional interests, Ritchie enjoys sports, traveling, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
