| Info | Academically, I am a mathematician and a historian, and I have been an Illinois resident since coming here from New Jersey to go college at Northwestern in 1981. I live in Deerfield with my wife Jennie, just a few blocks from the church where we were married. My two youngest children Thomas and Elizabeth are 2nd graders here in Deerfield, while my eldest child Allison is attending graduate school at University of Chicago..
Professionally, I have been a consultant working for a variety of major clients across the country, mostly on major computer system implementations. I have been involved in politics ever since the late 1970s, when I worked as an intern for Chris Smith (4 - NJ).
My top three priorities for our constituents are Jobs, Healthcare and College Tuition fees
My basic core beliefs are relatively straight forward, like most Americans. I believe that, in general, that the government should mostly mind its own business, that it should leave people alone if they aren't hurting anyone else. I believe that Americans are smart enough to know their own situation, and we should override their judgement rarely. In the economy, the government should be a referee, and not a player, and provide a fair playing field in which everyone can pursue their dreams.
This campaign is really suppose to be about you, not me. The question you should have is "Does Doug understand what we want him to solve if we send him to represent us?".
Leveraging my analytical and problem solving skills, I would like to offer a platform called P.U.R.E to deliver results.
