InfoSteve Bartos resides in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania with his wife Meg and his two children Nathaniel and Ethan. He was born and raised in Mt. Carmel Township and attended Holy Spirit School and Mount Carmel Area Junior/Senior High School.

Steve most recently worked as Renewable/Green Energy Coordinator for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Democratic Caucus. Mr. Bartos has over 25 years of experience working as an energy/environmental professional in private industry and government developing government programs to assist individuals with energy, environmental and regulatory compliance issues impacting their organizations, and businesses.

During his tenure with the United States Department of Energy (DOE) he was a senior policy advisor overseeing safety and contract administration related to environmental, safety, and health issues at DOE’s National Laboratories, United States government installations, and abroad. Steve has participated as a United States delegate on several United Nation Committees (Geneva, Switzerland) and with the International Atomic Energy Agency (Vienna, Austria) as a technical advisor on environmental issues impacting member nations. He was also a senior technical advisor for Ground Operations for DOE at the National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA) at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida for the Galileo, Ulysses, and Cassini spacecraft launches.

Steve participated in the development of program policies for negotiations with the Russian Federation and Russian private enterprises for conducting business in Russia regarding the purchase of Highly Enriched Uranium (HEU). He developed and managed sophisticated scientific and logistical activities designed to allow United States scientists and businessmen to conduct business in Russia including oversight of the development of monitoring of the production of HEU and conversion to Low Enriched Uranium (LEU) for use as nuclear fuel in United States power reactors.

Mr. Bartos was Head of Delegation on several business delegations to Moscow, Yekaterinburg, and Novuralsk Russia to finalize business agreements and conclude contract negotiations with Russian private enterprise. He was also a United States technical expert to several International Committees including the United Nations (Geneva, Switzerland) “Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space”, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (Vienna, Austria) “Technical Advisory Committee”.

He holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from Kutztown University, and attended both Texas A&M University and Oak Ridge University of Tennessee for Master Studies in Health Physics.
