| Info | Emmeline Owens is a working mother with a young family. She spends much of her time in South and West Wales where her family have lived for generations. As well as her job she is involved with the national childbirth trust, campaigns on local issues and is governor of a local nursery school.
After graduating in economics from Trinity College Dublin, Emmeline worked for the Confederation of British Industry and was Head of Policy at the British Chambers of Commerce, before moving into the financial services industry.
"I believe very strongly in a meritocratic society and support to voluntary and community groups is a vital way of achieving this. They can help to liberate individuals as well as enabling communities to take control of their own futures. I believe that only the Conservatives can make the state an enabler of revitalised communities."
