Info | WEYMOUTH, George Warren, a Representative from Massachusetts; born in West Amesbury (now Merrimac), Mass., August 25, 1850; attended the public schools and the Merrimac High School; moved to Fitchburg, Mass., in 1882 and engaged in the carriage business; later became manager of the Simonds Rolling Machine Co.; trustee of the Fitchburg Savings Bank 1891-1901 and director of the Fitchburg National Bank 1892-1901; director in other corporations; member of the common council of Fitchburg in 1886; served in the State house of representatives in 1896; delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1896; elected as a Republican to the Fifty-fifth and Fifty-sixth Congresses (March 4, 1897-March 3, 1901); was not a candidate for renomination in 1900; moved to Fairhaven; president of the Atlas Tack Corp. of Fairhaven, Mass., 1897-1910; killed in an automobile accident near Bingham, Maine, September 7, 1910; interment in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven, Bristol County, Mass.
