InfoBorn and raised in Georgia, Cleve Tidwell grew up in a humble Christian home located in the textile communities. Cleve began working early, as most young boys did, with a paper route. Throughout his youth, exposure to animals and land on his Uncle’s farm fostered a love of agriculture.

Cleve began working in the cotton mills the year he turned fifteen. “This was the most physically demanding job I ever had,” Cleve remembers. “My parents worked long, hard hours in the textile industry all their lives.”

Cleve speaks of dedicated people living in a lower middle-class community in small town America. “Where I lived was considered the wrong side of the tracks. We were happy. My parents always said, “Never give up and always be honest. “They were great examples of leadership. My parents were loving and dedicated people; hard workers, family focused, with Christian faith and strong values that guided our family.”

After completing college and the U.S. Marine Corps, Cleve began climbing the business ladder in Atlanta, Georgia. Work was required; there were no silver spoons in his family. Jobs were not readily available for men and women coming home from the military during the Viet Nam Era. Cleve moved rapidly from sales to management and continued to earn his way to senior management positions in a Fortune100 Company over the next twenty-five years. When the company sold in 1996, Cleve started his own small business firm provide services to business owners and entrepreneurs which later spread to an international company. His specialty in risk-management and leadership training became highly sought after in companies across several continents.

Cleve was selected by Nancy Reagan’s staff to run the “Just Say No” Program in the southern states. He served in this role while continuing to build his business in his earlier years. He worked as a volunteer with thousands of students and schools in an effort to fight the endless battle of drug abuse.

Political exposure in the early years of the Reagan campaign as a volunteer led to his involvement with the Fred Thompson campaign for U.S. Senate, and later the Fred Thompson campaign for President in 2008, both as volunteers.

In the past decade, Cleve while working and living most of his career in the United States has experienced the good fortune of working and living in other countries. International cultures and relationships proved important as work and travels have taken him from Europe, the Middle East, Central and South America, Asia and Japan. Cleve has spoken in business forums with senior management and companies from over 20 countries. His time in Central and South America included developing business and trade relationships while maintaining excellent business connections with key leaders worldwide. In Japan, he was exposed to other Asian countries and has developed close friendships and business connections throughout Southeastern Asia, India, Australia, Japan and China. Cleve brings international business experience and knowledge, along with a solid foundation of business management and leadership with him in pursuit of the U.S. Senate position.

A lifetime volunteer dedicated to helping people in need, Cleve served as director of a Central American Village for over 80 people who lost their home in Hurricane Mitch in 1998. His efforts extended to Asia, helping children and families, and extend to involvement in many charities and organizations where he continues to volunteer. He has served on various charitable boards. Cleve is an active member of the Red Cross, certified to assist in disaster both in and out of the United States.

One of Cleve’s fondest memories is that of being a “Big Brother” to a young boy, during Cleve’s earlier adult years. He believes in helping others and involves himself in serving his community wherever he lives.

In 2005, Cleve Tidwell returned to Colorado to work as the president of his companies United States Headquarters. As he continued to help businesses restructure management systems for better communication, greater profit, and improved human resources, he began to see a greater need. Cleve recognized that as the head of his own company with offices in Denver, Tokyo and Osaka, he could help his company. The greater need for independent leadership and understanding of the free enterprise system led him to consider and begin the pursuit of this position as U.S. Senator from Colorado.

Cleve actively fights for bills in Colorado State Legislature from outside the chamber. He testified on the bills requiring transparency for government and school systems, with a strong believe in complete transparency in government. His efforts in the private sector assure him that the capabilities of the people are available and ready to work for better business, better production, and more definition of independence and freedom for the people of this great state and nation. He understands that when leaders become transparent and vulnerable to the same rules and regulations they set for their people, government becomes more accountable. Millions of dollars can be saved when leaders are required to be accountable to the people, and accountable to the factors already instilled within the Constitution.
