Info | Lee, a descendant of Light Horse Harry Lee and Robert E. Lee, was a rare book dealer by profession. Believed to have engaged in suspicious activity at the Library of Congress for as much as a decade, he was arrested on March 7, 1992 and charged with attempting to steal two railroad survey maps hidden under his sweater. He was convicted on September 30, 1992 and spent the maximum six months in prison, in addition to a $1,200 fine and a three-year ban from visiting any federal library.
