InfoJohn Dawson lives in Barrington, IL. He has been married to his college sweetheart, Melissa, for 31 years. They have two grown children, Andy and Emily. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Masters degree, along with two associate degrees.

John started his career teaching fifth grade. After receiving his Masters degree, he moved into the private sector. Where in his 25 years he held top management positions, both domestic and international, for a global financial services company. Most recently, John has applied his managerial and risk-taking skills to building two successful small businesses.

During the course of his career, John has worked with individuals from the board rooms to the shop floor. These experiences have given him a broad-based view of the American economy and how it affects people from all walks of life.

John served on the District 155 School Board which included four high schools: Cary Grove, Crystal Lake South, Crystal Lake Central and Prairie Ridge. Where he focused on financials, technology and the enrichment of average students.

He has spent years helping others through Habitat For Humanity and church activities such as multiple trips to rebuild homes in New Orleans and helping local families in need.
He can be heard on Sunday’s giving children sermons at his church.

For fun, John is a competitive athlete in biking and running. This year he represented Illinois at the National Senior Olympics in California.
