Info | Douglas Harry "Doug" Bosco
Douglas H. Bosco is the leader of Holland & Knight's California Public Law Group. From 1982 to 1990, Mr. Bosco worked as a United States Representative from the First District of California, where he served on the Foreign Affairs, Public Works, and Transportation Committees.
Mr. Bosco authored the California Wilderness Act and the 1990 legislation that created the Smith River National Recreation Area, a 400,000-acre refuge in Northern California. From 1978 to 1982, he was a member of the California State Assembly, where he wrote the California Renewable Resources Investment Act. Prior to his election to public office, he served as director of the Marin County Housing Authority and the Marin County Human Relations Department.
In June 2000, Mr. Bosco was appointed by Governor Davis as a member of the California Industrial Welfare Commission. Mr. Bosco has served as past chair of Capital Campaigns to provide a $3 million building for the Sonoma County Food Bank and raise $7 million for the Sonoma County Children�s Home. He is a pro bono attorney for the West Sonoma County HIV-AIDS Ministry and serves on numerous boards, associations and community groups.
Mr. Bosco earned his J.D., as well as his B.A. in English, from Willamette University (1971 and 1968, respectively) in Salem, Oregon
