Info | Calvin Coolidge, Jr. (April 13, 1908- July 7, 1924) was the son of President Calvin Coolidge and a First Son of the United States, which title he held from August 2, 1923 until his death.
Calvin, Jr. was born to Calvin Coolidge and Grace Goodhue Coolidge. His father became President of the United States upon the death of President Warren G. Harding in 1923, when Calvin, Jr. was fifteen years old.
On the afternoon on June 30, 1924, he engaged with brother John Coolidge in a barefoot game of tennis. Calvin, Jr. developed a blister on his right foot, which progressed into blood poisoning and was the cause of his death on July 7, 1924, less than three months after his sixteenth birthday.
He was born April 13, 1908 and died July 7, 1924. His life was tragically cut short while home at the White House for his summer vacation. He had played tennis all day, and suddenly he developed a blister on his foot and died of blood poisoning a few days later. He was just sixteen.
