InfoElected State Representative in 1998, Randy Hultgren is an experienced leader whose public service has focused on empowering families, businesses, and communities through strong values and economic growth. His record of accomplishment shows that he will fight to protect our education funding, improve access to affordable medical care, defend our family values, and keep our streets and neighborhoods safe.
Rep. Hultgren currently represents portions of Wheaton, Winfield, Warrenville, West Chicago, Geneva, Batavia, and North Aurora. As a State Representative, he has served as the Republican Spokesperson on the medical liability crisis for which he played a major part in passing legislation that will keep our doctors in Illinois. In the 94th General Assembly, Rep. Hultgren serves as Republican Spokesman on the Judiciary I (Civil Law) Committee and is a member of the Financial Institutions, Labor, International Trade and Commerce, and the Telecommunications Re-write Committees.

Rep. Hultgren was first elected in 1994 to represent the fourth district of DuPage as a Member of the DuPage County Board and Forest Preserve. He served in both capacities until 1998 when he was elected State Representative. He was re-elected as State Representative in 2000, 2002, and 2004.

Rep. Hultgren has balanced his legislative duties with private sector experience as Vice President and Partner of Fortress Financial Management and Corporate Retirement Solutions Group. Rep. Hultgren's business experience gives him direct insight into the challenges faced by small business owners who send their tax dollars to Springfield and expect value and fiscal discipline in return. In Springfield, Rep. Hultgren has brought tough negotiation skills learned through years in the private sector to bear on some of the toughest challenges we face.

Rep. Hultgren has actively campaigned to elect other Republicans to office in Illinois. He is the former Chairmen of the Milton Township Republican Central Committee and currently serves as a Republican Precinct Committeeman in Winfield Township. All politics is local, and Rep. Hultgren appreciates the hard work done by our Republican Precinct Committeemen who carry the Republican message for good government to their neighbors each election cycle.

Rep. Hultgren has been an active member of our community outside of his legislative service in Springfield. He currently serves on the Metropolitan Family of DuPage Board, the Koinonia Ministry Board, the Serenity House Board, and is President of the Wheaton Academy Alumni Board, where he graduated in 1984.

Rep. Hultgren is a 1988 graduate of Bethel College, in St. Paul, MN. Before continuing his education, Rep. Hultgren was the Office Manager, Scheduler, and Legislative Assistant for Congressman J. Dennis Hastert from 1988-1990. He then attended Chicago-Kent College of Law earning a Juris Doctorate in 1993.

Rep. Hultgren was raised in Wheaton, where his family owns and operates the Hultgren Funeral Home. While Rep. Hultgren is proud of his accomplishments as a businessman and legislator, he is most proud of his role as a husband and father. Rep. Hultgren and his wife, Christy, have been married for over 14 years and currently live in Winfield. Mrs. Hultgren was a 2nd grade teacher, and is now a full-time wife and mother. The Hultgren's have four children: Karsten, Kylie, Kaden, and Koleson. The family attends Wheaton Bible Church.
