| Info | Terry Tomassetti is a 1971 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School, Terry received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, in 1975 where he graduated Cum Laude and was a recipient of the Richard M. Simpson Scholarship which was the college's most prestigious four year scholarship. Upon graduation Attorney Tomassetti entered the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1978. Upon completing his law school education he returned to his native Altoona where he began his career in the practice of law.
Over the past 28 years Terry Tomassetti has become a respected member of the Blair County legal community with particular emphasis in the areas of Elder Law, Commercial and Real Estate Law, Criminal Law and Municipal Law. A member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Terry Tomassetti devotes a significant portion of his practice to legal issues facing our senior citizens. In addition to serving over seven (7) years as an Assistant District Attorney for Blair County, Attorney Tomassetti has served the past fourteen (14) years as Assistant Solicitor for the City of Altoona for the Department of Inspections and Zoning. He has also been a guest lecturer for the Saint Francis University Small Business Development Center on the topic of "Legal Issues for Small Businesses".
Terry Tomassetti has also been actively involved in local government and politics, having been appointed in 2006 to the Blair County Board of Elections to select and oversee the new federally-mandated electronic voting machines for Blair County. He also served as Solicitor for the Blair County Republican Party and co-hosts the local cable public access channel political talk show "Weekend Wrap-up" since 1998. His guests have included such notables as former UN Ambassador and US Presidential candidate Doctor Alan Keyes, Pennsylvania Attorney General Thomas Corbett and former Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor William Scranton, Jr. Terry has been a frequent political commentator with a number of local and media outlets.
Terry Tomassetti has been deeply committed to his community over the years particularly in the areas of youth athletics, the arts and public issues. He was the manager of the Corporal Miller team in the George B. Kelly Baseball Federation and has coached in both the Altoona Little League and the VFW Teener League. Terry has served on the Tour De Toona Steering Committee, the Allegheny Ballet Company Board of Directors and as Solicitor for the Altoona Symphony Society. He continues to serve on the Altoona Enhancement Committee. Terry was also the founding director of a local ecumenical sacred choir which performs extensively throughout Central Pennsylvania in Judeo-Christian worship sites, as well as Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
Terry and his wife Kathleen have three children, Emily, age 21, Stephanie, age 19 and 17 year old Patrick. They reside in the city of Altoona.
