Info | MOTT, Luther Wright, a Representative from New York; born in Oswego, Oswego County, N.Y., November 30, 1874; attended the public schools and was graduated from Harvard University in 1896; engaged in banking in Oswego; appointed State superintendent of banks in 1907, but resigned after five days’ service; delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1908; president of the New York State Bankers’ Association in 1910 and 1911; elected as a Republican to the Sixty-second and to the six succeeding Congresses and served from March 4, 1911, until his death in Oswego, N.Y., July 10, 1923; interment in Riverside Cemetery.
