InfoA native of Kentucky , Patricia Todd has lived in Birmingham for more than 20 years. Patricia's entire professional career has been devoted to economic development and social issues, including educational development, AIDS-related issues, women's rights, and opportunities for women-owned and minority-owned businesses.

Patricia's years of experience and success as an advocate for community issues and social justice—including representing social justice organizations before the Alabama Legislature—have prepared her well for the job of representing Alabama House District 54. She has consistently displayed strong leadership qualities and demonstrated her ability to bring people together to address issues on the neighborhood and community level. Patricia currently serves as secretary of the Crestwood South Neighborhood Association, and in 2004 was elected as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention, supporting Senator John Kerry.

As the Representative for House District 54, Patricia's primary goal will be to make our district, and all of Alabama , a better place for all of our citizens. Patricia believes that only by working together to meet both the challenges and opportunities before us will Alabama fulfill its rich potential.

“I'm tired of seeing Alabama ranked in the top five in the nation in every bad category and in the bottom five in every good category,” Patricia says. “Like many of the voters I hear from across our community, I'm also tired of our Legislature doing nothing to address the real issues that affect the people of Alabama . If we're going to change that, we need to send representatives to Montgomery who are energetic, independent and accessible—and who will do what it takes to bring people together, rather than divide us for political gain. Together, we can do better!”
