| Info | Roger Allen Nutt, 40, has lived in House District 35 for 32 years and currently serves as Chairman of the Spartanburg County Building Code Board of Appeals where he has served for the past 12 years. Roger is the Vice President and Treasurer of TNC Engineering (Moore), a division of The Nutt Corporation, providing engineering and consulting services.
Born in Johnson City, Tennessee, Roger's family moved to Spartanburg where he started school in District 6. His family later moved into School District 5 where he completed his primary education and graduated from James F. Byrnes High School in 1984. Roger then attended Tennessee Tech University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. After graduation, he went to work for Milliken & Company as an Engineering Manager. After some years with Milliken and MEMC, Inc (Woodruff/Switzer), Roger joined his family's business in 1993 where he began what is now known as TNC Engineering, providing Civil Engineering design within the Upstate and surrounding areas. His brother, Bryan, President of TNC, joined the business in 1997 and helped expand the business to include car design for the Rail Road industry.
Roger is married and has (3) children : Collin (16), Kaitlin (12), and Luke (11). He has been a member of the same church family for over 36 years, where he has served as song leader, Family Ministry Deacon, and Bible Class teacher. His wife Tracy, a stay at home Mom, serves as the Spartanburg Director of the National League of Junior Cotillions and is also heavily involved in Christian service. Roger is a member and supporter of the NRA and the Republican National Committee. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of South Carolina and a member of the International Erosion Control Association. Roger also serves on the regulatory committee for the Spartanburg HBA.
