InfoRep. Bob Johnson, a Republican, represents part of Lee's Summit and Greenwood, a portion of Jackson County (District 47), in the Missouri House of Representatives.

Rep. Johnson was elected to serve in the House in November 2002. He previously served in the House from 1972 to 1976 and in the Missouri Senate from 1979 to 1993, where he served as the Assistant Minority Floor Leader from 1988 to 1993. Rep. Johnson also served as a member of the Lee's Summit R-7 Board of Education from 1995 to 1998 and as a member of the Lee's Summit City Council from 1998 to 2002.

In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Johnson is a homebuilder in eastern Jackson County.

Significant legislative accomplishments for Rep. Johnson include his sponsorship of Missouri's Living Will law. This law established the right of a person to sign a declaration directing the withholding or withdrawal of artificial life support procedures when the person suffers from a terminal illness. He also sponsored legislation that enhances the ability of developing businesses to raise seed capital.

A 1963 graduate of Northeast High School in Kansas City, Rep. Johnson earned his bachelor of science degree in economics in 1967 and his master's in business in 1968, both from Central Missouri State University.

Rep. Johnson is a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Born September 5, 1945, Rep. Johnson resides in Lee's Summit with his wife, Susie Johnson. They have an adult daughter, Kristi Johnson.
