BBC Constituency Profile:
The affluent, leafy seat of Kingston and Surbiton, in south-west London, also covers Chessington - home of the World of Adventures theme park - New Malden and Tolworth. Kingston is a major retail hub for the seat, boasting the Bentall Centre, which has more than 75 stores. Another big local employer is Kingston University, with notable alumni including now-retired rugby union player Lawrence Dallaglio.
More than 51% of residents describe themselves as being in 'very good health', according to the ONS 2011 Census data for England and Wales.
This seat, which was founded in 1997, has been held ever since by Liberal Democrat Edward Davey, who won first time round with a narrow majority of 56. This stretched to 15,000-plus at the 2001 poll. In 2010, Davey won with 49.8% of the vote, with the Conservatives on 36.5%, Labour 9.3% and UKIP 2.5%.
