Republican Incumbent Patrick Fleagle lost the GOP primary to challenger Todd Rock, leaving Rock as the GOP nominee for the general election.
No Democrat filed for the Democratic primary and both Fleagle and Rock ran write-in campaigns in this race. Fleagle came out on top in the Democratic primary. He accepted the Democratic nomination for the general election.
Essentially this is a general election between two Republicans. Fleagle has stated he will continue to caucus with the GOP and remain registered as a Republican.
