DescriptionHouse Minority Leader Robert Watson Monday morning issued a statement in which he vehemently denies "driving under the influence" in response to his arrest Friday night on drug possession and impaired driving charges in Connecticut.

Police in East Haven, Conn., say Watson, R-East Greenwich, was stopped at a police checkpoint on Route 80 about 9:35 p.m. Friday and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence.
