Description | Lee Holloway made it official Wednesday: He's a candidate for county executive in the April special election to fill out the remainder of Governor-elect Scott Walker's term.
Holloway, 64, said at a courthouse news conference that his experience in government and as a manager made him the best candidate in the race. Holloway has served on the County Board since 1992 and has been chairman for the past eight years.
He became acting county executive late Monday, when Walker resigned the post.
Holloway immediately went on the offensive, saying the other announced candidates - state Rep. Jeff Stone (R-Greendale), state Sen. Jim Sullivan (D-Wauwatosa) and philanthropist Chris Abele - lacked the skills and background for the executive's job. |
