Description"The appearance of two anonymous campaign fliers in mailboxes throughout the 12th District has aroused the suspicion of John Bennett's campaign.

Bennett, the Republican Senate Co-President, is the unflattering target of the two mailings, which highlight his ethical woes and encourage recipients to call his campaign office and express their outrage over his behavior.

The literature does not mention Bennett's Democratic opponent in the Monmouth County-based district, Marlboro Council President Ellen Karcher.

But the fliers are clearly intended to wound Bennett, a 24-year veteran of the legislature who, according to an independent poll released last week, is now trailing in his re-election bid."
