| Description | "Doug Forrester won a bitter fight for the endorsement of the Gloucester Republican Committee on Friday night, beating former Washington Township (Bergen County) Councilman Bob Schroeder by 21 votes.
In the week leading up to the convention, the Forrester and Schroeder camps each accused the other of tampering with the delegate process. At one point, Schroeder announced the endorsements of two committee members from Mantua who turned around and announced their support for Forrester a day later."
