InfoI was born in Sunset Park, raised in Beulah Heights, and I currently live in the Blocks-- I’m Pueblo through and through. Growing up, I spent my summers at my grandparents’ houses, camping with my Girl Scout troop, making tortillas, and exploring Pueblo. After high school, I attended Colorado State University-Ft. Collins and graduated with honors.

Following my undergrad, I pursued a Master’s degree at Western Washington University near Seattle. Throughout grad school, I spoke at several conferences, mentored undergraduate students, and held a job the entire time-- working my way through school.

My higher education journey taught me persistence and tenacity. My educational journey made me the first Latina from my family to graduate from college, and the first to earn a graduate degree. I am humbled to stand on the shoulders of my family and hope to serve as a role model to those who come after me.

After completing my graduate degree, I moved back to Pueblo. I moved back for my family. I stayed because I was excited by the progress Pueblo made when I was gone, and it motivated me to take action to improve Pueblo myself.

Since returning, I have worked at the Pueblo Health Department preventing youth substance use. My work has provided me opportunities to hone my leadership abilities through facilitating a community coalition. I have the pleasure to work with extraordinary partners who want the best for Pueblo and who inspire me daily to work harder, do more, and be better. I also helped to create this mural (to the right) in downtown to recognize Pueblo's youth!

I have gained experience in managing a million dollar, five-year grant and have proven that I am fiscally responsible, able to meet work deliverables, and advocate for Pueblo with State representatives. I have learned how our government currently works, and I know the issues and barriers community members face on a daily basis.

I recently became a proud Pueblo homeowner. I purchased my first home last year and proudly live in The Blocks neighborhood with my partner, Zach.

You can find me walking around the neighborhood with my dog Pumpernickel, frequenting locally owned restaurants (Pueblo has the best food), and golfing with my friends.

Whether I'm working or playing, I consistently try to improve our community and make a brighter future for all who live here.
