InfoVinson Mouser, 31, of Bunkie Louisiana declared his candidacy for United States Congress in Louisianas 5th Congressional District on August 17th - 2002 as a Libertarian.

Mouser is married to Lucrecia Esthay of Evangeline, Louisiana. He is the father of two children; a son Tanek and a daughter Kaia.

"I entered the Congressional race to shake up the system. I want to let everyone know there are more than two parties out there that are viable," said Mouser.

When elected to Congress Mouser said he will fight to make sure legislation passed is constitutional. "I feel every piece of legislation passed through Congress should first be checked to determine if it is constitutional," said Mouser.

According to Mouser one of the most important issues on his agenda is a national flat tax and the eventual abolition of the IRS.

Mouser said he would initiate a 10% flat tax in which every U.S. citizen would be able to opt out of the old system or remain in it. Any new businesses or taxpayers would join the new system, the flat tax system.

Mouser says he is also concerned with social security. He would propose a similar opt out system in which younger citizens could opt to invest up to 10% of their current 12% social security tax into the stock market. According to Mouser the remaining 2% would ensure that those citizens who remain in the old system and the senior citizens who are already receiving benefits will get what the government promised.

"One of the most important changes we need to make to our social security is to prevent politicians from using any of it for the general fund. Currently 50% is allocated to the general fund," said Mouser.

Mouser said he will work to protect your right to bear arms as guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. He said one of his goals is to roll back legislation which is already trampling on your 2nd Amendment rights.

He also promises to self limit himself as your representative to just three terms. "I feel no one should be a representative for more than three terms and a Senator for no more than two terms."
