InfoCARL J. HAAS of Rutland City, Rutland County, Republican, was born in Newburgh, New York, on March 19, 1949. Carl was educated at Saint Peter's elementary, and Mount Saint Joseph Academy High School in Rutland, Vermont. He attended Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1967, transferred to Radio Electronic Television Schools in Boston, completed the course in 1969, enlisted in the Vermont Army National Guard in 1969, trained as a two-way radio technician and served as a recruiter before being honorably discharged in 1975. Carl operated his own electronics repair facility for ten years and worked part and full-time during that period as Chief Engineer and Radio DJ at several Rutland County radio stations. Employed by Central Vermont Public Service Corp. since 1981, he has worked as a two-way radio technician, telecommunications technician, and is now the system administrator and programmer for the company's power management and control system.
